Emma Raducanu mocks Porsche rumours in cryptic post after being spotted on public bus

Reports last week suggested the tennis star’s £125,000 911 Carrera GTS had been reclaimed by German manufacturer

Emma Raducanu has been pictured behind the wheel of a £100,000 Porsche Cayenne, just hours after yet another report suggesting her deal with the luxury car maker might be in jeopardy.
The timing of the picture is unlikely to be coincidental. Raducanu, 22, took great pleasure in trolling her trolls earlier this month following suggestions her endorsement deal with the brand was “headed for the scrapyard” after Porsche “took back” the car it had gifted her.
Raducanu shared six photographs on her Instagram page on Oct 9, including one of herself in a car that appeared to be a Porsche – alongside a printed message that read: “Like I vanished and reappeared.”
That post followed reports the previous week that Porsche had reclaimed the £125,000 911 Carrera GTS it had previously lent her, even though a spokesperson for the company insisted it remained happy with her performance as a brand ambassador.
Porsche even went as far as to issue a public statement at the time backing the young Briton, who famously won the US Open in 2021 but whose progress has stalled following a number of injury setbacks. Raducanu is currently ranked 58 in the world.
“Emma Raducanu is a global brand ambassador for Porsche and there have not been any changes within our successful partnership since it started in 2022,” read the statement. “We are very happy with our partnership.”
After being spotted catching a London bus on Sunday, yet another report emerged questioning Raducanu’s Porsche deal. Just hours later Raducanu was pictured behind the wheel of a Porsche Cayenne.
She was clearly aware of the latest stories as she also shared a post on Instagram on Monday of her boarding the bus, alongside two emojis, one of a rolled-up newspaper and the other ‘crying laughing’.
Raducanu, who has made intermittent progress this year after an eight-month injury lay-off last year following double-wrist surgery, is currently out injured again. She has not played since spraining ligaments in her foot during a Korea Open quarter-final against Daria Kasatkina on Sep 21, pulling out of five tournaments in a row.
Raducanu announced last week that she would not feature at this week’s Hong Kong Open.
“Whilst my foot is making good progress, I need a little more time before I am match fit,” Raducanu wrote on X. “I hope to be able to come back and play this tournament in the future.”
Raducanu is aiming to return to fitness for the Billie Jean King Cup finals which take place in Malaga from Nov 13-20, with Britain’s first game against Germany on Nov 15.
